Sammanfattning : This thesis presents results of studies on the ice flow pattern and ice movement mechanism during the Weichselian glaciations in the middle Notec River area, NW Poland. A new lithostratigraphy of the study area has been established, based on correlation of stratigraphical position, clast lithology, fabrics and grain size composition of till units. LÄS MER
2. Marginal behaviour of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet during its final termination and deglaciation over Northeastern Germany
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents results from studies on geomorphology, lithostratigraphy and ice flow patterns during the final termination and deglaciation of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet in NE Germany. Ice flow patterns derived from till fabrics and glaciotectonical data indicate that short-lived marginal domes had formed during the advance and the retreat of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet in NE Germany. 3. Middle and Upper Ordovician graptolites, trilobites, and biostratigraphy of Scania and Jämtland, Sweden
Sammanfattning : Graptolites and some trilobites from Middle–Upper Ordovician siliciclastic and calcareous rocks in Scania (Skåne), southern Sweden, and Jämtland, central Sweden, are described and discussed. Their stratigraphic distribution is discussed on the basis of new and old collections from outcrops and drill cores. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Published articles on Arctic Ocean sedimentation rates generally falls into two categories; one suggesting mm/ka-scale sedimentation rates in the Amerasian Basin and the other cm/ka-scale rates in the Eurasian Basin. This is due to the interpretation of the first measured paleomagnetic polarity change in sediment cores as either the Brunhes-Matuyama (781 ka) reversal or as the short time magnetic excursion, Biwa II (220 ka) within the Brunhes Chron.
