   Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the relationship between the position, function and semantics of the German particle "also" (?so?). Traditionally, "also" is classified as a conjunctional adverb because it can fill the position in front of the finite verb in the German clause, the so-called "Vorfeld" (?pre-field?). LÄS MER

   Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to argue for the definition of the German present tense as a non-past tense. Three descriptive levels are distinguished: the semantic, the conceptual and the "level of reality" ( "Wirklichkeitsebene" ).    Sammanfattning : This thesis argues that it is relevant to make aspectual distincions in terms of progressivity and imperfectivity not only in languages like Russian or English but also in languages like German and Swedish, which traditionally are not considered aspect languages. This means that a distinction has to be made between aspectuality as a conceptual category and the grammatical category aspect (?Aspekt?), which needs a special morpho-syntactic expression. LÄS MER
