1. Longterm performance of polyolefins in different environments including chlorinated water: antioxidant consumption and migration and polymer degradation
Sammanfattning : The long-term performance of stabilized polyolefins in different environments was studied with focus on antioxidant consumption and migration. Plaques of linear polyethylene (LPE) and branched polyethylene (BPE) were stabilized with Santonox® R (4,4'-Thiobis(6-tert-butyl-3-methylphenol)), Irganox® 1081 (2,2’-Thiobis(4-methyl-6-tertbutylphenol)), or Lowinox® 22M46 (2,2’-Methylenebis(6-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol)). 2. Fat bloom on chocolate confectionery systems - From core to surface
Sammanfattning : Abstract Fat bloom on chocolate is a major problem for the confectionery industry since the unappetising appearance and negative sensory effects lead to rejection by customers. The presence of fat bloom on chocolate confectionery systems is usually connected to migration of liquid fat due to the difference in composition between filling triacylglycerols (TAGs) and cocoa butter TAGs. 3. ICME guided study of mass transport in production and application of cemented carbides
Sammanfattning : Cemented carbides are metallic composites consisting of a WC hard phase and a ductile binder, usually Co-based, produced by powder metallurgy and sintering. Cemented carbides are an essential part of modern material and manufacturing processes. LÄS MER
4. Consumption and loss of commercial stabilisers in polyethylene exposed to different natural environments
Sammanfattning : A procedure for the extraction and analysis of commercialstabilisers in low density and medium density polyethylene(LDPE and MDPE) films was developed and used to study theconsumption of stabilisers in polymers exposed to differentnatural environments. An ultrasonic technique was applied toextract HALS-3 (Chimassorb 944) from LDPE film and antioxidants(Irganox 1010 and Irgafos 168) from MDPE film. LÄS MER
5. Long-term Performance of PVC and CSPE Cables used in Nuclear Power Plants : the Effect of Degradation and Plasticizer migration
Sammanfattning : Enormous amounts of low voltage cables installed in a Swedish nuclear power plant are reaching their expected lifetimes. Since the cables are crucial to operational safety, it is of great importance that the actual condition of the installed cables is determined. LÄS MER
