  1. 16. Liquid-Jet-Target Microfocus X-Ray Sources : Electron Guns, Optics and Phase-Contrast Imaging

    Författare :Tomi Tuohimaa; Hans M. Hertz; Stephen Wilkins; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electron-impact; x-ray; brightness; liquid-jet-target; phase-contrast imaging; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This Thesis describes the development of an electron-impact microfocus x-ray source and its application for phase-contrast imaging. The source is based on a novel, liquid-jet target concept. Stable and continuous operation can be achieved at substantially higher electron-beam power densities than conventional solid target based systems. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Dynamic Modelling and Simulation of Liquid Food Process Lines

    Författare :Tomas Skoglund; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process lines; Dynamic model; Microbial deactivation; Data- och systemvetenskap; computer technology; Systems engineering; Fuzzy traceability; Traceability; Thermal engineering; termodynamik; Termisk teknik; applied thermodynamics; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Food and drink technology; Heat exchanger; Dispersion; Fluid property transition; Liquid food; Dynamic simulation; Livsmedelsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the present work a dynamic model library of components for process lines was developed. The analysis addressed characteristic aspects of liquid food process lines, and new models were developed for fluid transitions, dispersion, mixing zones and first-order chemical reactions in pipes and heat exchangers. 3. 18. Zwitterionic Separation Materials for Liquid Chromatography and Capillary Electrophoresis : Synthesis, Characterization and Application for Inorganic Ion and Biomolecule Separations

    Författare :Wen Jiang; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Zwitterionic; stationary phase; separation; liquid chromatography; capillary electrophoresis; sulfobetaine; modification; covalently bonded; graft polymerization; ζ-potential; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) are modern analytical techniques that play very important roles in many areas of modern science such as life science, biotechnology, biomedicine, environmental studies, and development of pharmaceutics. Even though these two techniques have existed and been subjected to studies for several decades, the developments of new separation materials for them are still very important till now in order to meet the different new demands for improvement from other disciplines in science. 4. 19. Dielectric Properties of Liquid-Impregnated Porous Solids

    Författare :Bo Nettelblad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fluid-solid interface; porous microstructure; temperature; ion-containing liquid; transport properties of porous media; brine; salinity; electric conduction; models of composite media; interface phenomena; dielectric relaxation; rock;

    Sammanfattning : Dielectric spectroscopy is a versatile tool that can often be used as a non-destructive, indirect way of measuring other important properties (such as content of crude oil or degree of curing of a resin). The dielectric properties of materials are thus of interest in several circumstances and not only for materials used for electrical purposes (such as electrical insulation). LÄS MER

  5. 20. Ionic Liquid Electrolytes for Photoelectrochemical Solar Cells

    Författare :Heléne Gamstedt; Lars A. Kloo; Michael Grätzel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ionic liquid electrolytes; Photoelectrochemical solar cells; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Potential electrolytes for dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical solar cells have been synthesized and their applicability has been investigated. Different experimental techniques were used in order to characterize the synthesized electrolytes, such as elemental analysis, electrospray ionisation/mass spectrometry, cyclic voltammetry, dynamic viscosity measurements, as well as impedance, Raman and NMR spectroscopy.
