  1. 11. Nanocellulose-based materials: from colloidal assembly to functional films

    Författare :Yingxin Liu; Lennart Bergström; German Salazar-Alvarez; Orlando Rojas; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The assembly of nature-based nanomaterials into complex architectures is both a design principle of biological composites, e.g., wood and nacre with outstanding properties and a promising route for developing functional macroscopic materials. LÄS MER

  2. 12. On the physico-chemical properties of softwood hemicellulose and compounds derived from it

    Författare :Polina Naidjonoka; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Hemicellulose is the second largest polysaccharide group available in nature after cellulose. Hemicellulose is present in plant cell walls along with cellulose and lignin. It is an abundant and biodegradable material that could potentially replace fossil-based products. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Characterization of some natural and synthetic materials with silicate structures

    Författare :Edwin Escalera; Farid Akhtar; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Konstruktionsmaterial; Engineering Materials; Materialteknik; Engineering Materials;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis deals with characterization of silicate structures with a determined morphology and structure such as ordered mesoporous silica and layered silicates. Mesoporous silica groups are amorphous solids exhibiting highly ordered pore structures with narrow pore size distributions and large surface areas. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Temperature programmed studies of molecular assemblies on gold

    Författare :Mattias Östblom; Sven Oscarsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the properties of ultra-thin layers of organic molecules deposited at or adsorbed onto thin films of gold. The two main experimental techniques used in this thesis work are Temperature Programmed Desorption-Infrared Reflection Absorption Spectroscopy (TPD-IRAS), an excellent technique to probe the structure and orientation of molecular layers on metallic substrates, and Temperature Programmed Desorption-Mass Spectroscopy (TPD-MS), a very useful tool to study the energetics of molecular layers and adsorbates on solid surfaces.
