    Författare :Pramote Chumnanpuen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transcriptome; Integrated analysis; Lipidome.; Inositol-choline; Opi1; Yeast lipid metabolism; high throughput techniques; Ino4; TORC1; Snf1; Ino2;

    Sammanfattning : Lipid metabolism plays an important role in the development of many different life-style related diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis, and understanding the molecular mechanisms behind regulation of lipid biosynthesis and degradation may lead to development of new therapies. In this project we undertook a global study of lipid metabolism in the eukaryotic model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Novel and Traditional Risk Factors for Coronary Artery Disease : Role of Coronary Artery Calcium, Lipidomics, Psychosocial Factors and Diet

    Författare :Demir Djekic; Ole Fröbert; Annika Rosengren; Tuulia Hyötyläinen; Anna M. Nordenskjöld; Magnus Bäck; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Novel risk factors; coronary artery calcium; lipidomics; lipidome; psychosocial factors; vegetarian diet; gut microbiota; metabolome;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The aim of the research reported in this thesis was to determine the association of novel and traditional risk factors with coronary artery calcium (CAC), a marker of subclinical coronary artery disease (CAD) in healthy individuals. In addition, we investigated the effects of a vegetarian, compared to a meat diet, on novel and traditional risk factors in patients with diagnosed CAD. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A molecular chaperone that governs membrane contact sites and lipid metabolism

    Författare :Sergi Tosal Castaño; Sabrina Büttner; W. Mike Henne; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Yeast; nucleus-vacuole junctions; proteostasis; unfolded protein response; fatty acid elongation; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : Transmembrane proteins represent almost one third of the total cellular proteome, and the majority of them requires translocation into the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to be folded, sorted and transported to their final subcellular destination. High translational rates during exponential cell growth result in a massive influx of immature proteins into the ER, requiring rapid and accurate folding. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Role of GPS2 in the regulation of adipocyte fate and function : a multi-omics approach

    Författare :Serena Barilla; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The escalating prevalence of obesity and its association with comorbidities like insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes have raised the interest in adipose tissue biology and its therapeutic potential. Adipose tissue remodeling during the development of obesity is an important regulator of systemic metabolic homeostasis, and dysfunctional adipose tissue is linked to the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
