11. Lipase chemoselectivity - kinetics and applications
Sammanfattning : A chemoselective catalyst is preferred in a chemical reaction where protecting groups otherwise are needed. The two lipases Candida antarctica lipase B and Rhizomucor miehei lipase showed large chemoselectivity ratios, defined as (kcat/KM)OH / (kcat/KM)SH, in a transacylation reaction with ethyl octanoate as acyl donor and hexanol or hexanethiol as acyl acceptor (paper I). 12. Lipase-Catalyzed Syntheses of Telechelic Polyesters
Sammanfattning : Telechelic polyesters have successfully been synthesized with lipase-catalyzed polymerization. The produced telechelics had a high degree of difunctionalization, high purity (requiring little or no workup) and controlled degree of polymerization. The syntheses were performed in one-pot one-step reaction systems. LÄS MER
13. Lipase and ω-Transaminase : Biocatalytic Investigations
Sammanfattning : In a lipase investigation, Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB) are explored for enzyme catalytic promiscuity. Enzyme catalytic promiscuity is shown by enzymes catalyzing alternative catalytic transformations proceeding via different transition state structures than normal. LÄS MER
14. Regulation of Lipoprotein Lipase Activity : an In-vitro Study of a Complex and Dynamic System
Sammanfattning : The progress of human society outpaces our biological evolution, and this brings unexpected health problems. The industrial revolution brought up dramatic changes in nutrition and lifestyle – we are increasingly shifting towards a nutrient-rich Western-patterned diet and to a sedentary lifestyle. LÄS MER
15. Lipoprotein lipase-unstable on purpose?
Sammanfattning : Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is a central enzyme in lipid metabolism. It is a non-covalent, homodimeric and N-glycosylated protein, which is regulated in a tissue-specific manner and is dependent on an activator protein, apolipoprotein CII. Dissociation of active LPL dimers to monomers leads to loss of activity. LÄS MER
