21. Density Functionals for Dynamic Linear Response in Finite Systems
Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates a new method for obtaining excited-state properties of finite, many-electron systems such as atoms, molecules and nano-systems. The method combines the merits of many-body perturbation theory and time-dependent perturbation theory and yields approximate density response functions which preserve basic physical conservation laws. 22. Pharmacometric Investigations of Prediction Precision and Advances of Models for Composite Scale Data
Sammanfattning : Clinical trials are needed to evaluate new treatments. In late-stage clinical trials, failures are mostly due to lack of efficacy. Fit-for-purpose analysis methods will likely increase the success rates and advance drug development by providing higher precision to support decisions such as go/no-go, dose selection, or sample size. 23. Pavement Response to Moving Loads
Sammanfattning : The response of flexible pavements at vehicle-road interaction has been studied in this thesis. A quasi-static and a dynamic framework for analysing the pavement structure under moving load has been developed. Both frameworks are general, robust and computationally efficient. LÄS MER
24. Optimal (Adaptive) Design and Estimation Performance in Pharmacometric Modelling
Sammanfattning : The pharmaceutical industry now recognises the importance of the newly defined discipline of pharmacometrics. Pharmacometrics uses mathematical models to describe and then predict the performance of new drugs in clinical development. LÄS MER
25. The Quest for Robust Model Selection Methods in Linear Regression
Sammanfattning : A fundamental requirement in data analysis is fitting the data to a model that can be used for the purpose of prediction and knowledge discovery. A typical and favored approach is using a linear model that explains the relationship between the response and the independent variables. LÄS MER
