16. Modelling, Simulation and Optimisation of a Machine Tool
Sammanfattning : To be competitive in today’s global market it is of great importance that product development is done in an effective and efficient way. To enhance functionality, modern products are often so-called mechatronic systems. This puts even higher demands on the product development work due to the complexity of such products. LÄS MER
17. Chemical Doping of Conjugated Polymers for Thermoelectric Applications
Sammanfattning : The ongoing development of interconnected and wearable small devices, which together make up the so-called Internet of Things, is driving a rising need for autonomous and on-site energy supplies. Heat, an abundant and often wasted energy source, can be harnessed through thermoelectric generators that can directly convert heat into electricity. LÄS MER
18. Diffractive Optical Elements: Fabrication, Replication, and Applications and Optical Properties of a Visual Field Test
Sammanfattning : This thesis mainly treats the fabrication, replication and applications of diffractive optical elements. A smaller part deals with optical properties of a visual field test. Diffractive optical elements are computer-generated micro-optic components that use diffraction to manipulate light. LÄS MER
19. Industrial Construction Methods for Cost-Effective and Sustainable Multi-Storey Buildings
Sammanfattning : Reduction of the cost of construction is a constant goal for the building industry. One way of reducing the construction cost of buildings is to develop building technologies that will give increased productivity. Reduced construction time at the building-site and waste of materials and resources contribute to furtherreduction of the costs. LÄS MER
20. Semi-automatic Ontology Construction based on Patterns
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to improve the ontology engineering process, by providing better semiautomatic support for constructing ontologies and introducing knowledge reuse through ontology patterns. The thesis introduces a typology of patterns, a general framework of pattern-based semi-automatic ontology construction called OntoCase, and provides a set of methods to solve some specific tasks within this framework.
