  1. 1. Light Rhythms : Exploring the Perceptual and Behavioural Effects of Daylight and Artificial Light Conditions in a Scandinavian Context

    Författare :Federico Favero; Roberto Bresin; Arne Lowden; Ute Besenecker; Sergio Altomonte; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lighting design; Context; Light; Behaviour; Perception of light; Perception of time; Associative aspects; Architecture; Daylight; Media Technology; Medieteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This compilation thesis collects multidisciplinary work on the study of the impact of light rhythms on perception and behaviour. The thesis was structured to answer and discuss the questions: “How does a person feel and behave inan illuminated space?” and “Do variable light conditions influence perception, appraisal and motion?”. 2. 2. Slippery paths : The performance and canonization of Turkic literature and Uyghur muqam song in Islam and modernity

    Författare :Nathan Light; USA IN Indiana University; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Folklore; Song; Islam; Muqam; Modernity; Language; literature and linguistics; Social sciences; Turkic; Canonization; Middle Eastern literature; Uyghur; Performance; China; Asian literature; Turkic languages; Turkiska språk; Literature; Litteraturvetenskap; Religionshistoria; History of Religions;

    Sammanfattning : In the past forty years the fluid Uyghur muqam song tradition has been transformed into a cultural canon used to represent the Uyghur ethnic group within China and on the world stage. Traditional muqam performers have provided the magma of songs that scholars and politicians have edited into an invented "great tradition" which supports a Uyghur claim to an important piece world cultural history. Sammanfattning : Structuring of semiconductor materials is utilized in many optoelectronic devices, e.g, in order to make them more efficient, cost-effective, and/or to obtain specific wavelength-engineered responses. Semiconductor materials are widely used in optoelectronic devices due to their favorable optical and electric properties. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Productivity and carbon transfer in pelagic food webs in response to carbon, nutrients and light

    Författare :Carolyn Faithfull; Ann-Kristin Bergström; Tobias Vrede; Kathryn Cottingham; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bacterial production; phytoplankton production; mesocosms; food webs; carbon; nutrients; light; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestrisk; limnisk och marin ekologi; limnologi; Limnology;

    Sammanfattning : Some of the major problems we face today are human induced changes to the nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and carbon (C) cycles. Predicted increases in rainfall and temperature due to climate change, may also increase dissolved organic matter (DOM) inflows to freshwater ecosystems in the boreal zone. LÄS MER
