    Sammanfattning : The use of cryogenic coolants such as liquid nitrogen or liquid carbon dioxide has emerged as a sustainable alternative to conventional cutting fluids during machining operations, with the potential to increase tool life, leading to productivity gains, as well as to improve the surface integrity of the machined components.     Sammanfattning : Turnouts (Switches & Crossings, S&C) are critical components of a railway track requiring regular maintenance and generating high life cycle costs. Building on knowledge of dynamic wheel–rail interaction in turnouts, it is investigated how rail profile degradation can be reduced by the optimisation of geometry and component stiffness of the track superstructure.     Sammanfattning : During severe accidents in nuclear reactors, the core and internal structures can melt down and relocate into the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) lower head (LH) forming there a stratified molten corium pool. The pool generally consists of superheated oxidic and metallic liquid layers imposing thermo-mechanical loads on the RPV wall. LÄS MER
