17. On the Late Saalian glaciation : A climate modeling study
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the glaciation of the Late Saalian period (160 -140 ka) over Eurasia. The Quaternary Environment of the Eurasian North (QUEEN) project determined that during this period, the Eurasian ice sheet was substantially larger than during the entire Weichselian cycle and especially that of the Last Glacial Maximum (21 ka, LGM). 18. Fetal Movements in late Pregnancy : Categorization, Self-assessment, and Prenatal Attachment in relation to women’s experiences
Sammanfattning : Aim: To explore how pregnant women experience fetal movements in late pregnancy. Specific aims were: to study women’s experiences during the time prior to receiving news that their unborn baby had died in utero (I), to investigate women’s descriptions of fetal movements (II), investigate the association between the magnitude of fetal movements and level of prenatal attachment (III), and to study women’s experiences using two different self-assessment methods (IV). 19. Late Quaternary Biostratigraphy of Sediments of the Southeastern Baltic Sea
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents Late Quaternary biostratigraphy in the SE Baltic Sea, based on palynological data from fifteen sediment cores. An objective subdivision of the cores has been achieved by numerical zonation. Ordination has revealed a succession of pollen spectra that can be used for biostratigraphic correlation across the region. LÄS MER
20. Late quaternary equatorial glacier fluctuations
Sammanfattning : On several occasions during the Quaternary, climate permitted equatorial glaciers to advance significantly. In East Africa, where the highest mountains of the African continent are located, evidence of three pre-Weichselian glaciations on Kilimanjaro, and two on Mount Kenya and Ruwenzori were recognized.
