    Sammanfattning : This project explores the 'maternal migration effect'. Following migration to a high-income country with a low maternal mortality rate, we assume that some immigrant women’s reliance upon maternal practices that respond to a low-income, high-mortality context can adversely affect care-seeking and utilization of treatment facilities. 2. 2. Studies towards late blight control in potato

    Författare :Laith Moushib; Molekylär cellbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Oomycetes; plant induced resistance; sustainable agriculture; plant defence activators; plant innate immunity; potato; late blight;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract The oomycete Phytophthora infestans, which causes the devastating late blight disease of potato, is notorious for developing resistance to conventional control strategies (fungicide application and resistance breeding by introgression of R gene). To increase our tool box of disease management strategies available to combat P. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modelling late toxicity in hypofractionated radiation therapy

    Författare :Niclas Pettersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hypofractionation; normal tissue complication probability; modelling; linear-quadratic model; fractionation sensitivity; late toxicity; radiation-induced rib fracture; genitourinary toxicity; stereotactic body radiation therapy; high-dose-rate brachytherapy; multimodality radiation therapy; patient-reported outcomes; prostate cancer; nsclc;

    Sammanfattning : In hypofractionated radiation therapy (RT), the treatment is delivered by few fractions with high doses per fraction. This is in contrast to conventionally fractionated RT where the total dose is delivered in many fractions with low doses per fraction. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On the Late Saalian glaciation : A climate modeling study

    Författare :Florence Colleoni; Martin Jakobsson; Johan Nilsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Climate modeling; Eurasian ice sheet; Quaternary; Saalian; surface mass balance; SST; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Marine Geoscience; marin geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the glaciation of the Late Saalian period (160 -140 ka) over Eurasia. The Quaternary Environment of the Eurasian North (QUEEN) project determined that during this period, the Eurasian ice sheet was substantially larger than during the entire Weichselian cycle and especially that of the Last Glacial Maximum (21 ka, LGM).
