  1. 1. Inducing large-scale diffusion of innovation : An integrated actor- and system-level approach

    Författare :Ingrid Mignon; Anna Bergek; Johanna Nählinder; Volker Hoffmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Innovation; large-scale diffusion; adopters; actor; system; drivers; challenges; motives; strategies; policies; renewable electricity; technology; intermediaries;

    Sammanfattning : In order for the innovation process to be successful, not only do innovations need to be developed and reached the market, but, once they are available for users, they have to spread on a large scale. In the innovation literature, a complete explanation is lacking of why some innovations reach a phase of large-scale diffusion faster than others, including both actor- and system-level components. 2. 2. Calibration and Reduction of Large-Scale Dynamic Models - Application to Wind Turbine Blades

    Författare :Majid Khorsand Vakilzadeh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; maximum likelihood estimator; model reduction; finite element model calibration; Bayesian model calibration; Verification and validation; wind turbine blade; logarithmic least square estimator; large-scale dynamics model; SWPTC;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the validity of structural dynamics models of wind turbine blades. An outlook on methods for model calibration to make models valid for their intended use is presented in the thesis. The intention is to make the models valid for robust predictions. The model validity is here assessed to be of hierarchical dual level. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Fundamental Limitations of Distributed Feedback Control in Large-Scale Networks

    Författare :Emma Tegling; Henrik Sandberg; Ali Jadbabaie; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Distributed control; Large-scale systems; networked control; decentralized control; fundamental limitations; networked systems; frequency control; smart grid; consensus; spatial invariance; power system dynamics; microgrids; vehicular formation systems; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Networked systems accomplish global behaviors through local feedback interactions. The purpose of a distributed control design is to select interaction rules and control protocols that achieve desired global control objectives. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Macroscopic modeling of fluid dynamics in large-scale circultaing fluidized beds

    Författare :David Pallarès; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fuel mixing; fluid dynamics; large-scale circulating fluidized bed; particle tracking;

    Sammanfattning : Satisfactory knowledge of the fluid dynamics governing the gas-solid flow in large-scaleCirculating Fluidized Bed (CFB) units is still lacking, although the CFB technology is widelyused for power (and heat) generation. Due to the complex two-phase flow in large CFB unitsfluid dynamical modeling of practical use is so far limited to a macroscopic approach andavailable models generally focus in describing one of the following key-phenomena: maingas-solid flow pattern, mixing of fuel particles and gas mixing. Sammanfattning : Water has always had a controlling influence on the earth’s evolution. Understanding and modelling the large-scale hydrological cycle is important for climate prediction and water-resources studies. LÄS MER
