  1. 1. Laparoscopy and tumour growth : a clinical and experimental study

    Författare :Owe Lundberg; Anders Kristoffersson; Dag Arvidsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; laparoscopy; tumour growth; metastases; gallbladder cancer; pneumoperitoneum; blood flow; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Background and aims: Laparoscopic technique was quickly adopted in general surgery because of less pain, quicker recovery and shorter hospital stay. In the 1990´s several reports on port site metastases restrained the enthusiasm to use laparoscopic surgery in malignant diseases. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Laparoscopy Diagnostic applications in suspected appendicitis and access-related complications

    Författare :Ann-Cathrin Moberg; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; orthopaedics; complications; laparoscopy; diagnostic laparoscopy; ortopedi; traumatologi; traumatology; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Laparoscopic surgery was introduced to minimize patient trauma. However, fatal technique specific complications, due to major vascular or visceral injury, were at times seen related to blind abdominal access using the Veress technique. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass : Hand-assisted Laparoscopy and Investigation of the Excluded Stomach

    Författare :Magnus Sundbom; Sven Gustavsson; Jan Hedenbro; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; gastric bypass; morbid obesity; laparoscopy; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGBP) sustains weight loss and ameliorates diseases common in the morbid obese (BMI>40 kg/m2), but leaves the stomach and duodenum inaccessible. Morbidly obese patients have increased operative risks and in other fields minimal surgery is known to facilitate the postoperative course. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A Laparoscopic Approach in Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery : Experimental and Epidemiological Studies

    Författare :Rune Sandbu; Bo Anderberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Gastro-oesophageal surgery; fundoplication; laparoscopy; long-term results; pneumothorax; intra-cranial pressure; positive end-expiratory pressure; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : The extension of laparoscopic procedures into the chest may induce specific pathophysiologic effects.In pigs, we have demonstrated how devastating a combined thoraco-laparoscopic approach can be for gas exchange. Furthermore, the transmission of elevated pressure intra-cranially is a potential danger. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Computer-assisted surgery in children

    Författare :Magnus Anderberg; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; minimally invasive; learning curve; laparoscopy; fundoplication; da Vinci® Surgical System; costs; Children; computer-assisted; paediatric surgery; robot; robotic surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Although positive in terms of patient trauma and recovery time, minimally invasive surgery has several technical drawbacks compared with open surgery. The new da Vinci® Surgical System from Intuitive Surgical® offers technical innovations aiming at overcoming these drawbacks and at improving the surgeon’s operating skills, such as the improved 3-D vision, tremor reduction and flexible instruments with a more natural and intuitive range of motion.
