Sammanfattning : Language-play can briefly be described as the wilful manipulation of the peculiarities of a linguistic system in a way that draws attention to these peculiarities themselves, thereby causing a communicative and cognitive effect that goes beyond the conveyance of propositional meaning. Among the various phenomena answering this description are the different kinds of puns, but also more strictly form-based manipulations such as rhymes and alliteration, in addition to a host of other, sometimes even fuzzier, subcategories. Sammanfattning : Denna avhandling handlar om en förberedelseklass med elever (7-10 år) som har ett annat hemspråk än svenska (arabiska, kurdiska, thailändska). Sammanfattning : The dissertation examines the collected literary works of Gustaf Fröding (1860-1911), from which it unearths a vital, yet hitherto unrecognised dimension: Fröding at play. The opening chapter accounts for how the concept of play has been made use of in previous literary research and elaborates, by way of an inter-disciplinary transfer of concept and with Fröding's chalice poem "En pligt-dikt" as key text, a literary play model. Sammanfattning : Fågel, fisk eller förundran? A study of existential attitudes based on essays written in a multicultural upper secondary school for adults The aim of this study is to survey and interpret outlooks on life as expressed in 175 essays written (1999-2001) in a multicultural Swedish suburb by adult students learning Swedish, Swedish as a Foreign Language, and Philosophy. What are the recurring themes in these essays? How do they reflect the fundamental existential problems of their authors? The theoretical background rests on existential hermeneutics with Sartre (1943, 1946, 1984) as the most important philosophical source. LÄS MER
