6. Documenting, Interpreting, Publishing, and Reusing : Linking archaeological reports and excavation archives in the virtual space
Sammanfattning : This PhD thesis examines how application of 3D visualization and related digital analytical tools is having a transformative impact on archaeological practice via improvement of visual-spatial thinking and the strengthening of conceptual understanding. However, the deployment of these new digital methods is essentially still at an experimental stage. LÄS MER
7. Guidelines for enhanced Intranet use : a study of dissemination of information to field workers within municipalities
Sammanfattning : The development and use of new technology enables our society and organizations to disseminate information very quickly. Citizens in the industrialized world have access to information using the World Wide Web and organizations can provide both customers and employees with information using intranets. LÄS MER
8. Economic Experiments on Behavior, Beliefs and Preferences
Sammanfattning : This dissertation consists of four independent papers, which share the use of experimental methods. Using different settings – the field, the lab, an online platform, and telephone interviews – I study economic behavior and its underpinning beliefs and preferences. LÄS MER
9. Melt spinning of poly(vinylidene fluoride) mono- and bicomponent fibres and yarns : the formation of piezoelectric beta-phase crystallinity
Sammanfattning : The present study investigates the possibilities of manufacturing piezoelectric polymer fibres or yarns for integration into textile materials. The polymers known to give the strongest piezoelectric effects are poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and some of its copolymers. LÄS MER
10. Acoustic Forces in Cytometry and Biomedical Applications: Multidimensional Acoustophoresis
Sammanfattning : Over the last decades the ongoing work in the fields of Lab-on-a-Chip and Micro-Total-Analysis-Systems has led to the discovery of new or improved ways to handle and analyse small volumes of biofluids and complex biosuspensions. The benefits of working on the microscale include: miniaturization of the analysis systems with less need for large sample volumes; temporal and spatial control of suspended particle/cell positions; low volume sheath flow lamination or mixing; novel separation techniques by using forces inherent to the microscale domain; precise regulation of sample temperatures and rapid analysis with less volumes needed to be processed.
