16. Extended impregnation kraft cooking of softwood : Effects on reject, yield, pulping uniformity, and physical properties
Sammanfattning : Converting wood into paper is a complex process involving many different stages, one of which is pulping. Pulping involves liberating the wood fibres from each other, which can be done either chemically or mechanically. LÄS MER
17. Aspects of extended impregnation kraft cooking for high-yield pulping of hardwood
Sammanfattning : The long-term trend regarding wood is an increase in price. Because wood contributes to a large part of production costs, the efficient utilisation of wood is greatly desired to reduce production costs for kraft pulp producers. During the 1990s, the development of improved modified kraft cooking began, which led to higher yields. LÄS MER
18. A Sequence of Essays on Sequences of Auctions
Sammanfattning : Essay I (with Gagan Ghosh and Heng Liu). The existence of declining prices in sequential auctions is a well-documented empirical pattern. Three explanations that can explain the puzzle are bidders being risk averse, loss averse, or ambiguity averse. LÄS MER
19. Remote Electronic and Acoustic Laboratories in Upper Secondary Schools
Sammanfattning : During a substantial part of their time young people of today actually live in a virtual world. The medial evolution has also influenced education and today much research work basically concerns the transfer of the physical world into the virtual one. One example is laboratories in physical science that are available in virtual rooms. LÄS MER
20. Development of a water model with arbitrary rank multipolar polarization, repulsion and electrostatics
Sammanfattning : I report on the derivation, development and computer implementation of methods for computing the energies and forces between small rigid polarizable molecules, that are defined by the center-of-mass moments of their electronic and nuclear charge distributions and their linear response moments. The formalism is based on compact and efficient storage and manipulation of symmetric Cartesian tensors of arbitrary rank, and a general formula for the Cartesian gradients of one-dimensional interaction (kernel) potentials.
