    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory and systemic disease characterised by joint destruction and pannus formation. To enlarge the understanding how pannus and granulation tissue are formed two animal models were used; one using cartilage wrapped in cotton and implanted into a rat air pouch (AP) and one where mBSA induced arthritis (AIA) was performed.     Sammanfattning : Aggressive lymphoma is a rapidly growing tumour of lymphocyte origin, potentially curable with chemotherapy. In a trial by the Nordic Lymphoma Group, 405 patients with aggressive lymphoma were included, and randomised to receive either the standard chemotherapy regimen, CHOP, or a weekly multidrug regimen, MACOP-B.     Sammanfattning : The causes of autoimmune diseases are largely unknown today, but there is evidence supporting a substantial complex genetic influence on many of these diseases as well as environmental factors and chance. In this thesis I have tried to get one step closer to the genetic causes of two autoimmune diseases through their induced counterparts in mice, namely rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and multiple sclerosis (MS).
