    Sammanfattning : I den här avhandlingen granskas framväxten av den svenska välfärdsstaten i ljuset av internationell påverkan och kunskapsutbyten med andra länder. Avhandlingen handlar om barnavårdsavdelningen inom Svenska fattigvårds- och barnavårdsförbundet och den reformpolitik som fördes inom avdelningen under 1920- och 1930-talen – det vill säga det tidevarv då den den svenska välfärdsstaten formerades.     Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to study how the students in the work experience period of The Study Program in Public Health and Education experienced how the discipline of education could contribute to health promotion in practice and if whether the integration between theory and practice in this case reached the appropriate higher education standard. The data collection comprised semi-structured interviews, the student’s descriptions of the trainee post, their aims and objectives and the follow-up and evaluation of their aims and objectives.     Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this doctoral thesis is to examine the perceptions that new arrival immigrant families have of Swedish preschool, and the perceptions of these families as expressed by the Swedish state preschool political discourse over the last fifty-year period.
