    Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines artistic translations of constructivism by the Brazilian artists Geraldo de Barros (1923-1998), Lygia Pape (1927-2004) and Lygia Clark (1920-1988) using the theoretical perspectives of anthropophagy and biopolitics. Previous research has addressed artworks of Brazilian constructivism, a movement which over the last few decades has been canonised as part of a multiple, global modernism. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : För drygt 30 år sedan samlades några uttråkade ungdomar i Hultsfred, Småland och bildade rockföreningen Rockparty. Föreningen byggde upp en omfattande konsertverksamhet och en stark musikscen på den lilla orten. 1986 startade Hultsfredsfestivalen, vilken utvecklades till ett av Sveriges starkaste varumärken.     Sammanfattning : In a Swedish brass band a program for change was pursued which aimed to improve the artistic level of playing of the ensemble without replacing less competent members. At the time for the study the band comprised 34 members, four of whom were female. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : HOW CAN WE PLAN AND DESIGN FOR community in diverse urban situations? In response to segregation and social fragmentation, public space is increasingly being conceived of as a vehicle for fostering openness towards differences, both in planning practice and theory. Drawing on two recent public space projects – Superkilen in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Jubileumsparken in Gothenburg, Sweden – this thesis explores what this hopeful idea may mean in terms of the actual making of public space.     Sammanfattning : This thesis intends to answer the question: How was the narrative of the mission in China formulated and used to engender and sustain the fervour of the friends of the mission in the 1890s? It was at this time, with growing unemployment, lack of housing, and of poverty – a time when new and challenging ideas emerge – that the interest in the missions to China awoke. The context of the missionary narrative in this thesis is the Swedish town of Jönköping, a place with a strong religious image and therefore often called “Småland’s Jerusalem”. LÄS MER
