  1. 1. Technology Platforms: Organizing and Assessing Technological Knowledge to Support its Reuse in New Applications

    Författare :Daniel Corin Stig; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; technology management; knowledge reuse; technology platforms; platform thinking; core capabilities; technology development; technology reuse; technology transfer; knowledge management; knowledge repositories;

    Sammanfattning : Companies that develop a wide range of products often strive to exploit opportunities for synergy among them. Many products that cannot share components can still offer opportunities for synergy as they build upon the same technologies and know-how for their development and production. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; history of botany; utopia; Oxford University Botanic Garden; pressed plants in books; botanical collection; classification; herbarium; Global Plants; digitisation; database; conservation; natural dyeing; botanikhistoria; utopi; Oxford University Botanic Garden; pressade växter i böcker; botaniska samlingar; klassifikation; herbarium; Global Plants; digitalisering; databas; växtfärgning; Historiska studier av teknik; vetenskap och miljö; History of Science; Technology and Environment;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the history of botany as a global collection-based science by tracing parallels between utopian traditions and botanical collecting, from their sixteenth-century beginnings to the present. A range of botanical collections, such as gardens, herbaria and classification systems, have played a central role in the struggle to discover a global or universal scientific order for the chaotic, diverse and locally shaped kingdom of plants. 3. 3. Knowledge Based Integrated Multidisciplinary Aircraft Conceptual Design

    Författare :Venkata Raghu Chaitanya Munjulury; Petter Krus; Roland Stolt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Knowledge-base; Aircraft; Conceptual Design; CAD; XML Database; Multidisciplinary; Optimization;

    Sammanfattning : With the ever growing complexity of aircrafts, new tools and eventually methods to use these tools are needed in aircraft conceptual design. To reduce the development cost, an enhancement in the conceptual design is needed.This thesis presents a knowledge-based aircraft geometry design tool RAPID and the methodology applied in realizing the design.
