  1. 1. Chlorine Cycling in Terrestrial Environments

    Författare :Malin Montelius; David Bastviken; Teresia Svensson; Katarina Abrahamsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chloride; organic chlorine; chlorination; dechlorination; 36Cl; risk assessment modelling; Klorid; organiskt klor; klorering; deklorering; klor-36; riskmodellering;

    Sammanfattning : Chlorinated organic compounds (Clorg) are produced naturally in soil. Formation and degradation of Clorg affect the chlorine (Cl) cycling in terrestrial environments and chlorine can be retained or released from soil. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Uncharted Waters : Non-target analysis of disinfection by-products in drinking water

    Författare :Anna Andersson; David Bastviken; Henrik Kylin; David Reckhow; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Water treatment technologies; chemical disinfection; FT-ICR MS; bioassays; Vattenreningstekniker; klor; kloramin; FT-ICR MS; effektbaserad analys;

    Sammanfattning : Disinfection by-products (DBPs) are potentially toxic compounds formed when drinking water is treated with disinfectants, such as chlorine or chloramine. A large proportion of the exposure to DBPs is still unknown and the health risks observed through epidemiological studies cannot be explained by DBPs known today. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Chlorine Transport in a Small Catchment

    Författare :Teresia Svensson; Gunilla Öberg; Katarina Abrahamsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catchment; chloride; chlorine; chloroform; organic chlorine; runoff water; soil; VOCls; avrinningsområde; avrinningsvatten; flyktiga klorerade föreningar klor; klorid; kloroform; organiskt klor; mark; Water in nature and society; Vatten i natur och samhälle;

    Sammanfattning : De senaste decenniernas forskning har påvisat att en omfattande bildning och nedbrytning av klororganiska föreningar sker i mark. Bildning av sådana föreningar sker genom att klorid binds in i organiskt material. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Calibration and quality assessment of DESCARTES : grabsampler for stratospheric tracers

    Författare :Johan Arvelius; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Adsorption; Balloon; Carboxen; CFC; Chloro-Fluoro Carbon; Grab sampling; Halocarbon; Molecular sieve; Stratospheric tracer; Tracer; Adsorption; Ballong; Carboxen; CFC; Halogeniserade kolväten; Klor-Flourkarbon; Spårgas; Stratosfärisk spårgas; Space physics; Rymdfysik;

    Sammanfattning : DESCARTES is a light-weight, balloon-borne grab sampler for stratospheric long-lived tracers developed at the University of Cambridge. 33 flights have been performed with two versions of the instrument at northern latitudes by the DESCARTES team at the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) in Kiruna during the years 1997-2000. 5. 5. Furnace Wall Corrosion in a Wood-fired Boiler

    Författare :Yousef Alipour; Pamela Henderson; Mikko Hupa; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High Temperature Corrosion; Used-wood Fired Boilers; Furnace Wall Corrosion; Cl-induced Corrosion; 16Mo3; Nickel-based Alloys; FeCrAl Alloys; Fuel Additive; Sewage Sludge; >Thermodynamics Modelling; Högtemperaturkorrosion; Returträ Förbränningspannor; Eldstad Korrosion; klor-inducerad korrosion; 16Mo3; Nickelbaslegeringar; FeCrAl-legeringar; Bränsletillsatser; Avloppsslam; Termodynamik Modellering; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The use of renewable wood-based fuel has been increasing in the last few decades because it is said to be carbon neutral. However, wood-based fuel, and especially used wood (also known as recycled wood or waste wood), is more corrosive than virgin wood (forest fuel), because of higher amounts of chlorine and heavy metals.
