    Sammanfattning : Throughout history, major rivers and shared water bodies have allowed civilizations to flourish, and the effective management of shared water bodies has always been a priority for societies and nations. Today, about 40% of the world’s population lives in proximity to the 286 transboundary river and lake basins that supply 60% of the world’s freshwater flows and make up about half of the Earth’s land area. 2. 12. Climate Change after the International : Rethinking Security, Territory and Authority

    Författare :Johannes Stripple; Statsvetenskapliga institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Insurance Industry; Climate Change; Environmental Politics; Environmental Issues; Environment; Process Philosophy; Authority; Territory; Security; International Relations; International Politics; UNFCCC; Political and administrative sciences; Statsvetenskap; förvaltningskunskap;

    Sammanfattning : What does a politics after the international mean? Many strands of contemporary scholarship converge on the image of the international as obsolete, but strongly diverge on the contours of the kinds of politics that are superseding it. The modern state has been pivotal to the meaning of security, territory and authority?concepts central to the idea of the international?but they do not necessarily have to be tied to the state. 3. 13. Microbial Communities in Boreal Peatlands : Responses to Climate Change and Atmospheric Nitrogen and Sulfur Depositions

    Författare :Magalí Martí Genero; Bo Svensson; Åsa Danielsson; Torben Christensen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microbial communities; methanogens; plant communities; peatland; temperature; nitrogen; long-term; field experiment; high-throughput sequencing; Microbiella samhällen; metanogener; växtsamhällen; myrar; torv; temperatur; kväve; långtid; fältexperiment; high-throughput-sekvensering;

    Sammanfattning : Myrmarker har en stor roll i regleringen av den globala kolbalansen och koncentrationerna av koldioxid och metan i atmosfären, vilket gör dem till speciellt viktiga ekosystem ur ett klimatförandringsperspektiv. Förändringar av myrmarker genom naturlig utveckling eller antropogen påverkan kan därför få långtgående störningar av myrars klimatreglerande funktion. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Emerging technologies for climate-neutral urban areas : An Industrial Ecology perspective

    Författare :Asterios Papageorgiou; Cecilia Sundberg; Rajib Sinha; Maria Malmström; Ola Eriksson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban areas; climate neutrality; solar microgrid; biochar; Life Cycle Assessment; Material and Energy Flow Analysis; Substance Flow Analysis; Urbana områden; klimatneutralitet; solmikronät; biokol; livscykelanalys; material- och energiflödesanalys; substansflödesanalyss; Industrial Ecology; Industriell ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : The ever-increasing concentration of human activity in urban areas induces environmental problems beyond their boundaries on scales ranging from local to regional to global, such as resource depletion, land degradation, air and water pollution and climate change. Human-induced climate change is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest sustainability challenges of the present century and it is inextricably linked to urbanization. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Managing knowledge sharing of extreme weather induced impacts on land transport infrastructure : Case study of the Swedish Transport Administration

    Författare :Monika Rydstedt Nyman; Lars Nyberg; Magnus Johansson; Eva Liljegren; Peter Söderholm; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; lessons learned; risk management; climate change adaptation; accident investigation method; extreme weather events; natural hazard; land transport infrastructure; maintenance; lärande; kunskapsåterföring; risk hantering; klimatanpassning; olycksutredningsmetod; naturolyckor; landtransport infrastruktur; underhåll; Risk and Environmental Studies; Risk- och Miljöstudier;

    Sammanfattning : Extreme weather events and effects of climate change are threats to the transport sector’s functionality and safety. Risk management in this context implies a necessity to focus on the connection between near-term experiences and coping strategies on one hand, and long-term adaptation analyses on the other. LÄS MER
