  1. 1. A Study of Renal Function in Children with Cancer

    Författare :Lars Hjorth; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pediatrics; Pediatri; nefrologi; Urologi; nephrology; Urology; children; sequelae; pediatric oncology; chemotherapy; renal toxicity; malignancy; hyperfiltration; iohexol clearance; glomerular filtration rate; kidney disease; Glomerular proteinuria; tubular proteinuria;

    Sammanfattning : Evaluation of long-term side effects of treatment is important due to the growing number of childhood cancer survivors. How kidney function is affected over time needs to be clarified. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Longitudinal study of infants with high-grade vesicoureteral reflux

    Författare :Sofia Sjöström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; vesico-ureteral reflux; congenital; infant; kidney function tests; renal insufficiency; urinary tract infections; bladder; urodynamics; spontaneous resolution; multivariate analyses;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Infants with congenital high-grade vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) have been regarded as a special group amongst children with reflux, with their own characteristics concerning renal damage, gender, resolution rate and causative mechanism. A dysfunctional bladder has been suggested to be associated with the condition. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The clinical importance of non-HLA specific antibodies in kidney transplantation

    Författare :Almahri Ayeda; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Transplantation; non-HLA antibody;

    Sammanfattning : The clinical significance of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibodies (Abs) for hyperacute, acute and chronic antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) of kidney allografts has been clearly demonstrated. AMR occurs in the absence of donor-reactive HLA Abs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Glomerulopathy in normoalbuminuric adolescents with type 1 diabetes : relations between structure, function, metabolic control and ambulatory blood pressure

    Författare :Torun Torbjörnsdotter; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Type 1 diabetes; Adolescents; Metabolic control; Kidney morphology; Basement membrane thickness; Foot process width; Kidney function test; Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring;

    Sammanfattning : An increase in the incidence of type 1 diabetes in childhood has been reported in several countries, especially among the youngest children. Although clinically apparent diabetic vascular disease is rare in children and adolescents, 30-40% are at risk of developing nephropathy during their lifetime which may lead to renal failure. Sammanfattning : Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is highly associated with the metabolic syndrome, and due to increasing prevalence of for example obesity it is now the most common liver disease in the world. A minority progress to advanced fibrosis/cirrhosis, which is associated with increased mortality, but it is not entirely clear which patients who have an increased risk of fibrosis. LÄS MER
