    Sammanfattning : The aim of the study on which this thesis is based was to gain an understanding of the life situation of street children in Kenya and to investigate how caring institutions care for these children.  A reflexive ethnographic approach was used to facilitate entry into the children’s sub-culture and the work contexts of the caregivers to better understand how the children live on the streets and how the caregivers work with the children.     Sammanfattning : Background: The maternal mortality ratio for Uganda is 435/100,000 live births. Between 12-30 percent of the maternal deaths are due to induced abortions. According to the 2007 Uganda demographic and health survey (UDHS), the contraceptive prevalence rate was 24 percent and only 18 percent used modern contraceptives. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the contestation over a bauxite mining project in the State of Andhra Pradesh which includes a number of factors that may be seen as producing conflicts over both the physical environment and equitable, inclusive development for very vulnerable people. A key issue at stake is an alternative use of land in the constitutionally protected Scheduled Areas for mining rather than low intensity cultivation and extraction of forest products. LÄS MER
