The emergence of new theories of human brain function, together with an increasing use of realistic human-computer interaction, give reason to believe that a better understanding of the relationship between human brains and virtual realities is both possible and valuable.    Sammanfattning : Det övergripande syftet med avhandlingen var att utforska, beskriva och förstå äldre människors upplevelser och erfarenheter av välbefinnande utifrån intervjuer och berättelser, berättade på plats (insitu) vid särskilt boende för äldre (så kallat äldreboende).Intervjuer genomfördes med tjugo äldre personer inom boendeformen äldreboende, vilkas erfarenheter och berättelser ligger till grund för avhandlingens resultat.
