  1. 1. The conserved methionines in the chloroplast small heat shock protein - Role in chaperone-substrate interactions and effects of methionine sulfoxidation on chaperone activity

    Författare :Niklas Gustavsson; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metabolism; Biochemistry; oxidative stress; thermostability; temperature stress; stress tolerance; sHsp; protein aggregation; molecular chaperone; Heat stress; methionine sulfoxidation; Biokemi; metabolism; Plant biochemistry; Växtbiokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The chloroplast-localized small heat shock protein (sHsp) Hsp21 belongs to the family of alpha-crystallin like sHsps which form large oligomeric structures and protect partly unfolded aggregation-prone proteins against aggregation. The main focus for this thesis has been on the highly conserved methionines in Hsp21. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vila och lärande om vila. En studie på livsvärldsfenomenologisk grund

    Författare :Margareta Asp; Karin Dahlberg; Kerstin Segesten; Britt-Marie Ternestedt; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; rest; stress; health; caring; learning; skills; lived body; life-world; phenomenology; vila; stress; hälsa; fenomenologi; lärande; vårdande; omvårdnad; färdighet; levd kropp; livsvärld; Caring sciences; Vårdvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Avhandlingsarbetets syfte var att utifrån människors levda erfarenheter av vila, utveckla en tentativ teori om vila och om lärande avseende vila. Den kunskapen har utgjort grund för att beskriva hur förutsättningar för lärande avseende vila kan skapas. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Violaxanthin De-epoxidase and the Xanthophyll Cycle

    Författare :Anna Gisselsson; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant biochemistry; zeaxanthin.; xanthophyll cycle; violaxanthin de-epoxidse; thylakoid; regulation; quenching; protonation; pH-dependence; light stress; histidine; Conformational change; domains; Växtbiokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The xanthophyll cycle is a mechanism for short term adaptation of plants to varying light intensities. It involves a reversible conversion of violaxanthin to zeaxanthin, via the intermediate antheraxanthin, upon high light intensities. LÄS MER

  4. 4. 101 Women's patterns of daily occupations : Characteristics and realtionships to health and well-being

    Författare :Lena-Karin Erlandsson; Chris Henriksson; Hållbar vardag och hälsa i ett livsperspektiv; []

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigated the concept of balance in daily occupations. The overarching aim was to explore women’s patterns of everyday occupations and to investigate relationships between different aspects of patterns of daily occupations and health and well-being. The participants were working, cohabitant women with pre-school children. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Multifunctional carbohydrate-based soft materials from cereal by-products

    Författare :Secil Yilmaz Turan; Francisco Vilaplana; Rosana Moriana; Amparo Jiménez Quero; Anna Ström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :wheat bran; corn bran; hemicellulose; arabinoxylan; ferulic acid; subcritical water extraction; acetylation; films; hydrogels; crosslinking; regeneration; antioxidant activity; vetekli; majskli; hemicellulosa; arabinoxylan; ferulsyra; subkritisk vattenextraktion; acetylering; filmer; hydrogeler; tvärbindning; regeneration; antioxidant aktivitet; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : Cereal production generates large quantities of by-products every year, which still remain underutilized. The hemicellulose fractions from cereal by-products are anticipated to play an important role in tomorrow's sustainable and bio-based circular economy. LÄS MER
