  1. 1. The Temporomandibular Joint in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis : Psychosocial, clinical, imaging and parotid saliva biomarkers

    Författare :Alexandra Dimitrijevic Carlsson; Per Alstergren; Kerstin Wahlund; Carin Starkhammar Johansson; Martina. Frodlund; Bijar Ghafouri; Robin Kahn; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomarkers; Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis; Magnetic resonance imaging; Orofacial pain; Parotid gland; Plasma; Psychological distress; Psychosocial; Saliva; Stress; Temporomandibular joint; Biomarkörer; Juvenil idiopatisk artrit; Käkled; Magnetisk resonanstomografi; Orofacial smärta; Saliv; Spottkörtel; Stress;

    Sammanfattning : Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common rheumatic disease in children. The disease can affect the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and cause orofacial growth disturbances, pain, and jaw dysfunction. TMJ arthritis is often asymptomatic and therefore a challenging joint to diagnose. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Juvenile birch in Sweden : Selected stem characteristics for interior and furniture applications

    Författare :Josefin A. Nilsson; Åsa Blom; Jimmy Johansson; Nylinder Mats; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Betula pendula; Betula pubescens; wood density; birch bark; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In response to the furniture industry’s growing demand for raw material, large volumes of juvenile silver birch and downy birch stems available from pre-commercial thinning operations in Sweden’s forests could offer solutions. However, such stems are not currently used on an industrial scale, and most research conducted on birch stems in general has neither focussed on young trees nor the potential use of the central stem part around the tree pith. 4. 4. Fish foraging under visual constraints

    Författare :Mikael Jönsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; planktivore.; piscivore; brownification; visual foraging; Turbidity;

    Sammanfattning : Visual conditions are changing in several different ways. Some lakes are getting turbid due to eutrophication or erosion while others are getting browner due to brownification. These two types of visual degradation results in completely different optical properties of lakes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Species interactions in streams - effects of predation, competition and ecosystem properties

    Författare :Erika Nilsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; behaviour; species abundance; stable isotopes; habitat complexity; niche width; niche overlap; competition; streams; predation;

    Sammanfattning : Stream ecosystems are dynamic and they have an inherent environmental variability. Organisms that live in streams are adapted to the continuously changing environment and the presence or absence of species are determined by their environmental requirements, while abundance is most often affected by interactions, such as competition and predation, with other species that are found in the same habitat.
