11. Cardiovascular and respiratory effects of apnea in humans
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with cardiovascular and respiratory effects of apneas in humans. During apnea (breath-holding), a number of interacting cardiovascular reflexes are initiated, and together these reflexes are called the “diving response”. LÄS MER
12. Numerical Studies of Wall Effects of Laminar Flames
Sammanfattning : Numerical simulations have been done with the CHEMKINsoftware to study different aspects of wall effects in thecombustion of lean, laminar and premixed flames in anaxisymmetric boundary-layer flow. The importance of the chemical wall effects compared to thethermal wall effects caused by the development of the thermaland velocity boundary layer has been investigated in thereaction zone by using different wall boundary conditions, walltemperatures and fuel/air ratios. 13. Customer-Perceived Service-Quality and Technology-Based Self-Service
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis deals with consumers’ attitudes towards serving them-selves with machines rather than being served by personnel. Its aim is to contribute to the theory of perceived service quality by providing a better understanding of customers’ attitudes and preferences when using technology-based self-service. LÄS MER
14. Epidemiological studies of host susceptibility in malignant lymphomas and colorectal cancer
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the role of host susceptibility in malignant lymphomas and colorectal cancer. Specifically, the associations between infection and malignant lymphomas, skin cancer and survival from subsequent cancer, and the association between inflammatory bowel disease, familial disease, and colorectal cancer were assessed using Swedish population-based and nation-wide registers. 15. Adaptive Cruise Control and Driver Modeling
Sammanfattning : Many vehicle manufacturers have lately introduced advance driver support in some of their automobiles. One of those new features is Adaptive Cruise Control DACCE, which extends the conventional cruise control system to control of relative speed and distance to other vehicles. LÄS MER
