1. The use of structural information to improve biological sequence similarity searches
Sammanfattning : Bioinformatics is a fast-developing field that make use of computational methods to analyse and structure biological data. An important branch of bioinformatics is structure and function prediction of proteins. To determine the structure of a protein is a crucial part in the characterisation of the molecule. LÄS MER
2. Structural Information and Hidden Markov Models for Biological Sequence Analysis
Sammanfattning : Bioinformatics is a fast-developing field, which makes use of computational methods to analyse and structure biological data. An important branch of bioinformatics is structure and function prediction of proteins, which is often based on finding relationships to already characterized proteins. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Aim: This dissertation called the COPE (Caring Optimized Physical Environment) project, aimed to evaluate the perceptions of patients, family members, and staff regarding support from the physical environment, with a focus on light, color, and person-centered climate, before and after there furbishment and remodeling of an emergency department (ED).Methods: A quasi-experimental design was employed, implementing evidence-based design principles for light and color in the ED. 4.
5. Harvesting in the boreal forest on soft ground : ways to reduce ground damage
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the studies underlying this thesis has been to acquire knowledge relating to potential methods of reducing both the amount and severity of ground damage caused by forest machinery used in the boreal forest. The work focused on technical solutions applied to the forwarders that had the potential to reduce ground damage such as rutting and soil compaction. LÄS MER
