  1. 1. Beyond IT and Productivity : How Digitization Transformed the Graphic Industry

    Författare :Mathias Cöster; Thomas Falk; Birger Rapp; Bo Carlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; IT; productivity paradox; the Graphic Industry; digitization; IT effects; IT benefits; Business and economics; Ekonomi; Economic Information Systems; Ekonomiska informationssystem;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines how IT and the digitization of information have transformed processes of the graphic industry. The aim is to show how critical production processes have changed when information in these processes have been digitized. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Reconfigurable and Wideband Receiver Components for System-on-Chip Millimetre-Wave Radiometer Front-Ends

    Författare :Shakila Bint Reyaz; Robert Malmqvist; Anders Rydberg; Luca Roselli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Reconfigurable; Wideband; Receivers; Millimetre-Wave; Radiometers; System-on-Chip; Passive Imaging.; Engineering Science with specialization in Microwave Technology; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrovågsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents solutions and studies related to the design of reconfigurable and wideband receiver circuits for system-on-chip (SoC) radiometer front-ends within the millimetre-wave (mm-wave) range. Whereas many of today’s mm-wave front-ends are bulky and costly due to having discrete RF components, single-chip receiver modules could potentially result in a wider use for emerging applications such as wireless communication, short range radar and passive imaging security sensors if realised with adequate performances and at a lower cost. 3. 3. Is it local? : A study about the social production of local and regional foods and goods

    Författare :Sofie Joosse; Susanne Stenbacka; Anders Malmberg; Kevin Morgan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Local and regional products are often attributed positive qualities, such as a potential for developing Europe’s rural regions economically and reconnecting producers and consumers in more sustainable food systems. However, they are broad categories that include many different understandings. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Talk through IT : Using Common Ground to build Bridges with Weak Ties in the Design of Online Psychosocial Support

    Författare :Ruth Alicia Lochan Winton; Pär Ågerfalk; Louise von Essen; Jonas Sjöström; Margunn Aanestad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; ICT; Information and Communication Technology; Psychosocial Support; Online Psychosocial Support; Design Principles; Emotional Distress; Somatic Disease; Communication; U-CARE; Trinidad and Tobago; Common Ground; Weak Ties; e-health; Oncology; Information Systems; Informationssystem; Hälso- och sjukvårdsforskning; Health Care Research;

    Sammanfattning : There is growing interest in applying information and communication technology (ICT) in healthcare. The attention to ICT stems from several factors: costs of healthcare, high prevalence of somatic diseases, longer life expectancy and technological advancements. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Tamiflu® - Use It and Lose It?

    Författare :Josef D. Järhult; Björn Olsen; Hanna Söderström; Jonas Waldenström; Robert G. Webster; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; influenza; oseltamivir; Tamiflu; resistance development; H274Y; environment; pharmaceuticals; mallard; dabbling duck; avian influenza; influensa; resistensutveckling; miljö; läkemedel; gräsand; Infektionssjukdomar; Infectious Diseases;

    Sammanfattning : Influenza A viruses cause seasonal and pandemic outbreaks that range from mild infections to the disastrous Spanish Flu. Resistance to neuraminidase inhibitors (NAIs) is a growing problem as these drugs constitute a vital part of treatment strategies and pandemic preparedness plans worldwide. Oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) is the mostly used NAI. LÄS MER
