11. Neuromuscular aspects of eccentric knee extensor actions : effects of electrical stimulation, age, gender and training
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to study the effects of electrical stimulation, age, gender and training on the torque- and EMG-velocity relationships during eccentric knee extensor muscle actions in man. An isokinetic custom-built dynamometer was evaluated and used throughout the thesis. LÄS MER
12. On methods of evaluation of lower extremity eccentric muscle performance and loading
Sammanfattning : This investigation has developed and evaluated methods for measuring eccentric muscle function and loading of the human lower extremity, including isokinetic tests of knee extensor muscle performance and a comprehensive in vivo method for conditions of functional loading. For measurement of knee extensor muscle performance, a protocol of 100 repetitive maximal actions at 90° was applied using a Biodex isokinetic dynamometer. LÄS MER
13. Velocity controlled dynamometry and gait analysis : development of methods and applications
Sammanfattning : The isokinetic systems developed in the present study can measure torque in maximal voluntary and passive movements. The torque recordings may be combined with surface EMG recordings from pairs of antagonistic muscles involved in the movement. Healthy subjects and patients with spastic paresis have been examined. 14. Asymmetric lateral loading of the human trunk
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to characterize the biomechanics and neuromuscular control of the human trunk in response to asymmetric lateral loading. The pulling force and strength capacities as well as muscle activation patterns, trunk kinematics and postural balance in relation to lateral trunk flexion and loading were given special consideration. 15. Rehabilitation following bone-patellar tendon-bone graft ACL reconstruction
Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this Thesis was to improve treatment and rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare closed kinetic chain (CKC) training and a combination of closed and open kinetic chain (OKC) quadriceps exercises following ACL reconstruction on anterior knee laxity and isokinetic muscle torque.
