  1. 1. Ischaemic heart disease - risk assessment, diagnosis, and secondary preventive treatment in primary care : with special reference to the relevance of exercise ECG

    Författare :Gunnar Nilsson; Eva Samuelsson; Thomas Mooe; Per Wändell; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Exercise ECG; Ischaemic heart disease; Myocardial infarction; Prehospital delay; Primary care; Prognosis; Referral; Statin; Secondary prevention; Arbets-EKG; hjärtinfarkt; ischemisk hjärtsjukdom; sekundärprevention; Family Medicine; allmänmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Ischaemic heart disease is a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge to most general practitioners. We sought to identify diagnostic characteristics and prognoses of patients in primary care that received exercise electrocardiography (ECG). We compared the ECG test results with respect to probability of subsequent cardiologist referrals. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Methods for quantitative analysis of myocardial perfusion SPECT : validated with magnetic resonance imaging, phantom studies and expert readers

    Författare :Helen Fransson; Matematik LTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Segmentation; Quantification; Spline; Image registration; Cardiac image analysis; Myocardial perfusion SPECT;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, methods for automated analysis of myocardial perfusion single photon emission computer tomography (myocardial perfusion SPECT, MPS) images have been successfully developed and evaluated. MPS images show the perfusion of the myocardium and are used for diagnosing patients with suspected ischemic heart disease. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Statistical Segmentation and Registration of Medical Ultrasound Data

    Författare :Mattias Hansson; Matematik LTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Registration; Segmentation; Feature descriptor; Statistical image and signal processing; Medical ultrasound; Variational methods; Mixture model; Bayesian; Markov Chain Monte Carlo; Similarity measur;

    Sammanfattning : The interpretation of ultrasonic imagery is typically not straightforward and of quite subjective nature and therefore strongly dependent on the expertise of its users. Thus the development of algorithms which aid in the interpretation of ultrasonic data is a highly relevant topic. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Artificial neural networks classify myocardial perfusion images

    Författare :Dan Lindahl; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; radionuclide imaging; ischemic heart disease; computer-assisted diagnosis; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : In the studies of this thesis, a method for automated classification of myocardial perfusion images was successfully developed and evaluated. The results show that the method, based on artificial neural networks, was equally good, or even better than human experts. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Vascular dementia - classification and clinical correlates

    Författare :Ulla Andin; Lund Psykiatri; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; psychosomatics; Psychiatry; clinical psychology; Medicine human and vertebrates ; falls; clinical course; hypertension; orthostatic hypotension; dizziness; cerebrovascular disease; Alzheimer?s disease; Neuropathological subgroups; cardiovascular disease; Psykiatri; klinisk psykologi; psykosomatik; Medicin människa och djur ;

    Sammanfattning : During the period (1976-1995) a total of 175 consecutive patients (m 88/f 87) with neuropathologically verified vascular dementia (VaD) were examined. 22 patients with pure Alzheimer's Disease (AD) were also studied. All patients were diagnosed and followed at the Department of Psychogeriatrics (Lund University Hospital). LÄS MER
