1. Single-photon multiple ionisation of atoms and molecules investigated by coincidence spectroscopy : Site-specific effects in acetaldehyde and carbon dioxide
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, multiple ionisation processes of free atoms and molecules upon single photon absorption are studied by means of a versatile multi-electron-ion coincidence spectroscopy method based on a magnetic bottle, primarily in combination with synchrotron radiation. The latter offered the possibility to access not only valence but also core levels, revealing processes, which promote the target systems into different charge states. LÄS MER
2. On the Formation and Structure of the Ionosphere of Titan
Sammanfattning : We present results on the ionospheric structure around Titan observed during numerous deep (.... LÄS MER
3. On dynamics and thermal radiation of imploding shock waves
Sammanfattning : Converging cylindrical shock waves have been studied experimentally. Numericalcalculations based on the Euler equations and analytical comparisons basedon the approximate theory of geometrical shock dynamics have been made tocomplement the study.Shock waves with circular or polygonal shock front shapes have been createdand focused in a shock tube. 4. Theoretical prediction of ionisation properties of proteins
Sammanfattning : This work emphasises on elaboration of improved theoretical and computational methods for determination of protonation/deprotonation equilibria in proteins. It also aims to contribute for a better understanding on atomic level of ionisation properties of proteins and their role in structure-functional relationship. LÄS MER
5. Analysis of noncovalent and covalent protein-ligand complexes by electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the application of electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) to the analysis of intact proteins is demonstrated. In papers I and II, the use of ESI-MS for the analysis of noncovalent protein-ligand complexes were discussed. LÄS MER
