  1. 1. High Resolution Analysis of Halftone Prints : A Colorimetric and Multispectral Study

    Författare :Daniel Nyström; Björn Kruse; Markku Hauta- Kasari; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Color imaging; Multispectral imaging; Halftone print; Dot gain; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Sammanfattning : To reproduce color images in print, the continuous tone image is first transformed into a binary halftone image, producing various colors by discrete dots with varying area coverage. In halftone prints on paper, physical and optical dot gains generally occur, making the print look darker than expected, and making the modeling of halftone color reproduction a challenge. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A multi-resolution approach for modeling flow and solute transport in heterogeneous porous media

    Författare :Hrvoje Gotovac; Vladimir Cvetkovic; Alberto Bellin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multi-resolution adaptive approach; Atomic and Fup basis functions; Monte- Carlo method; Heterogeneous porous media; Flow; Transport; Travel time; Water engineering; Vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Subsurface processes are usually characterized by rare field experiments, sparse measurements,multi-resolution interpretations, stochastic description, related uncertainties and computational complexity. Over the last few decades, different computational techniques and strategies have become indispensable tools for flow and solute transport prediction in heterogeneous porousmedia. LÄS MER

  3. 3. High Resolution Tip-Enhanced Raman Images of Single Molecules from First Principles Simulations

    Författare :Zhen Xie; Yi Luo; Filippo De Angelis; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :First Principles; Tip-Enhanced Raman Images; light-matter interactions at the nanoscale; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Sammanfattning : With the precise control of spatially confined plasmon (SCP), tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) has achieved sub-nanometer resolution, leading to the chemical and physical characterization of the single molecule by optical Raman images. In the high resolution TERS measurements, the SCP spatial distribution generates the position-dependent Raman images. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantitative bioimaging in single cell signaling

    Författare :Kristoffer Bernhem; Hjalmar Brismar; Anita Aperia; Lena Scott; Christian Eggeling; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Super resolution imaging; fluoresence; bioimaging; cells; FRET; cluster analysis; labeling; image analysis.;

    Sammanfattning : Imaging of cellular samples has for several hundred years been a way for scientists to investigate biological systems. With the discovery of immunofluorescence labeling in the 1940’s and later genetic fluorescent protein labeling in the 1980’s the most important part in imaging, contrast and specificity, was drastically improved. 5. 5. Transition metal- and lipase-catalyzed reactions : Dynamic resolutions, hydrogen transfer and enzyme engineering

    Författare :Patrik Krumlinde; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Johannes G. de Vries; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dynamic kinetic resolution; dynamic kinetic asymmetric transformation; hydrogen transfer; directed evolution; enzyme engineering; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis mainly focuses on chemoenzymatic processes and can be divided into three parts: The first part of the thesis, chapters 2-4, is devoted to the development of combined ruthenium- and enzyme-catalyzed dynamic processes. In these processes the metal catalyst racemizes (epimerizes) the alcohol substrate via hydrogen transfer and the enzyme transforms the substrate into enantiomerically enriched product. LÄS MER
