  1. 1. The meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics in student talk : Inclusion as a topic when students talk about learning and teaching in mathematics

    Författare :Helena Roos; Despina Potari; Hanna Palmér; Nùria Planas; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; inclusion in mathematics; discourse analysis; students meaning s ; Matematikens didaktik; Mathematics education; Mathematical Education;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to research and practice within the field of special education in mathematics with more knowledge about, and an understanding of, students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics education. Three research questions guide the study: What meaning(s) is/are ascribed, and how is inclusion used, in mathematics education research? What meaning(s) do the students ascribe to inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching? And what frames students´ meaning(s) of inclusion in mathematics learning and teaching?The first part of this study began with a systematic literature review on the notion of inclusion in mathematics education research, and the search resulted in 1,296 research studies. 2. 2. Early Elementary School Interventions in Reading and Mathematics

    Författare :Hanna Lindström-Sandahl; Henrik Danielsson; Stefan Samuelsson; Åsa Elwér; Joakim Samuelsson; Karin Landerl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Intervention; Special education; Instruction; Reading; Mathematics; Randomized controlled study; Follow-up; Elementary school; Intervention; Specialpedagogik; Undervisning; Läsning; Matematik; Randomiserad kontrollerad studie; Uppföljning; Grundskola;

    Sammanfattning : Supplemental special education support in reading and mathematics is essential for some children who struggle to learn basic reading or mathematics skills in their first years of schooling. Previous research shows that supplemental phonics and early numeracy and arithmetic instruction help students at risk for reading or mathematics difficulties. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Models for Additive and Sufficient Cause Interaction

    Författare :Daniel Berglund; Timo Koski; Helga Westerlind; Ola Hössjer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Causal Inference; Sufficient Cause; Potential Outcomes; Counterfactual; Additive Interaction; Interaction; MFPO; ICI; Logistic Regression; Linear Odds; Public Health; Interventions; Probabilistic Potential Outcome; Matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to develop and explore models in, and related to, the sufficient cause framework, and additive interaction. Additive interaction is closely connected with public health interventions and can be used to make inferences about the sufficient causes in order to find the mechanisms behind an outcome, for instance a disease. 4. 4. Frameworks for task design and technology integration in the mathematics classroom

    Författare :Patrik Gustafsson; Andreas Ryve; Per Sund; Tomas Bergqvist; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; mathematical classroom discussion; task design; classroom response system; technology integration; design principle; framework; Didactics; didaktik;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years many teachers and students have begun having good access to digital technology in their classrooms, and in the context of Sweden the majority of secondary schools are known as one-to-one schools, with students having their own computer or tablet. However, the mere presence of technology in the classroom is not a guarantee for improved teaching and learning. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Health, Experienced Support and School Performance among Children in Out-of-home care

    Författare :Rikard Tordön; Gunilla Sydsjö; Carl Göran Svedin; Martin Bergström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Children in out-of-home care (OHC) have higher risks for developing poorer health and school achievement, being subjected to more abuse experiences, as well as negative long-term outcomes related to occupational performance, socioeconomic status, addiction, and criminality. Research related to OHC children is fragmented and the effects of interventions are under-studied. LÄS MER
