21. A Quantitative Rule System for Musical Performance
Sammanfattning : A rule system is described that translates an input score file to a musical performance. The rules model different principles of interpretation used by real musicians, such as phrasing, punctuation, harmonic and melodic structure, micro timing, accents, intonation, and final ritard. 22. SHAKER ARCHITECTURAL MATERIALS AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
Sammanfattning : AbstractThis work is an investigation into the state-of-the-art of architectural conservation, from an international and interdisciplinary perspective. It explores issues, methodologies, and tools applicable to heritage resource assessments - from an architectural conservators point of view - and its aim is to generate appropriate approaches, methodologies and tools to holistically assess both the tangible and intangible aspects of significant architecture from the past. 23. Tools and pipelines for interpreting the impacts of genetic variants
Sammanfattning : Next generation sequencing (NGS) methods have been widely used for diagnosis. As time and cost of sequencing has reduced sharply during the last decade, genome and exome-wide sequencing have increasingly been used. LÄS MER
24. Geophysical Applications of Vegetation Modeling
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development and selected applications of a global vegetation model, BIOME4. The model is applied to problems in high-latitude vegetation distribution and climate, trace gas production, and isotope biogeochemistry. LÄS MER
25. Essays on Field Experiments and Impact Evaluation
Sammanfattning : Paper 1: Improving Welfare Through Climate-Friendly Agriculture: The Case of the System of Rice Intensification We use rich survey data to investigate the economic impact of a climate-friendly rice farming method known as the system of rice intensification (SRI) on the welfare of rain-dependent small-holder farmers in Tanzania. SRI reduces water consumption by half, which makes it a promising farming system in the adaptation to climate change in moisture constrained areas, and it does not require flooding of rice fields, resulting in reduced methane emissions.
