21. Methods for the Assessment of Long-Lived Radionuclides in Humans Resulting from Nuclear Activities or Accidents - Fission track analysis of trace-amounts 239Pu and a copper hexacyanoferrate kit for monitoring radiocaesium
Sammanfattning : Fission track analysis (FTA) was developed to be applied to ultra-low levels of 239Pu in bioassay samples. An analytical protocol was established for the FTA processing. The detection limit was determined to 1.5 µBq and the calibration constant was 24 fission fragments per µBq 239Pu. LÄS MER
22. New approaches on fetal and maternal intrapartum monitoring
Sammanfattning : Background: Intrapartum fetal monitoring aims to prevent adverse outcomes due to intrapartum asphyxia. Cardiotocography (CTG) is an established method for intrapartum monitoring. The method has high sensitivity, but low specificity and is also user-dependent and linked to both inter- and intraobserver variability. LÄS MER
23. Data Driven Condition Monitoring for Transmission and Axles
Sammanfattning : As the requirements to improve up-time and thus to reduce costly down-time con-tinuously increases, the construction equipment business focuses on more and newways to increase ability and sensitivity of early fault detection of critical compo-nents and parts in order to prevent failure. Failure of critical components in theheavy duty machine may lead to unnecessary stops and expensive downtime. LÄS MER
24. Climatic conditions inside nuclear reactor containments - Monitoring campaign
Sammanfattning : The reactor containment is one of the most important buildings at a nuclear power plant. In case of an accident the containment wall is the final protection against radioactive leakage to the surrounding environment. A reactor containment contains different types of concrete structures. 25. Environmental Monitoring - using diode-laser-based spectroscopic techniques
Sammanfattning : Monitoring of environmental gases is necessary to understand the complex processes governing global warming and the impact of pollutant emissions related to human activity. Diode-laser-based spectroscopic techniques, being robust and affordable, have a great potential to become an industrially well-established technology for environmental sensing. LÄS MER
