  1. 11. Realising full-scale control in wastewater treatment systems using in situ nutrient sensors

    Författare :Pernille Ingildsen; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reglerteknik; robotteknik; Automatiska system; control engineering; Instrumentation; Wastewater treatment; Control; Full-scale plants; Control structures; Electronics and Electrical technology; Elektronik och elektroteknik; robotics; Automation; kontroll av utsläpp; pollution control; Miljöteknik; Environmental technology;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract A major change in paradigm is taking place in the operation of wastewater treatment plants as automatic process control is becoming feasible. This change is due to a number of different reasons, not least the development of online nutrient sensors, which measure the key parameters in the biological nutrient removal processes, i.e. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Development and evaluation of methods for control and modelling of multiple-input multiple-output systems

    Författare :Fredrik Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Input-output scaling; Modeling; Fiber length; Tensile Index; Hold-input; Decentralized control; Gramian based measures; Delays; LQG control; TMP; Uncertain data sets; Unreliable communication links; MIMO systems; Control configuration selection; Linear regression; Freeness; Shives; CTMP;

    Sammanfattning : In control, a common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 3. 13. On Modeling and Optimal Control of Modular Batteries: Thermal and State-of-Charge Balancing

    Författare :Faisal Altaf; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; convex optimization; converters; electrified vehicles.; model predictive control; thermal balancing; SOC balancing; battery control; Modular batteries;

    Sammanfattning : There has in recent years been an increasing interest in battery-powered electrified vehicles (xEVs) to reduce carbon footprint of transportation and the dependence on fossil fuels. Since the battery pack of xEVs is one of the most expensive but a key component in the powertrain, the battery lifetime is an important factor for the success of xEVs. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Embedded Systems and FPGAs for Implementation of Control Oriented Models, Applied to Combustion Engines

    Författare :Carl Wilhelmsson; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :NOx; NO; Nitrogen Oxides; Emissions; Air pollution; Algorithms; Physical model; Mathematical model; FPGA; Field Programmable Gate Arrays; Embedded Systems; Micro-controllers; Engine; Diesel Engine; Internal Combustion Engine; Combustion Control; Engine Control.;

    Sammanfattning : Performance demands put on combustion engines are ever increasing, e.g. demands on emissions and fuel consumption. The increased demands together with new combustion concepts increase the need for feedback engine and combustion control. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Driveline Modeling and Control

    Författare :Magnus Pettersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : A vehicular driveline is the system used to transfer engine torque to the wheels. Resonances in the elastic parts of the driveline are important to handle when control of the engine and the transmission is optimized.Gear shifting by engine control is a new approach for automatic gear shifting with disengaging the clutch replaced by engine control.
