1. LiFeSO4F as a Cathode Material for Lithium-Ion Batteries : Synthesis, Structure, and Function
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, two recently discovered polymorphs of LiFeSO4F, adopting a tavorite- and triplite-type structure, were investigated as potential candidates for use as cathode materials in Li-ion batteries. The studies aimed at enriching the fundamental understanding of the synthetic preparations, structural properties, and electrochemical functionality of these materials. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Abstract toInterfacial colloidal particle films andtheir structure formation; a licentiate thesis, whichwill be presented by Sandra Rödner in Q2, 29 November 2002at 13.00.Colloidal particles can be made to organise themselves intoordered arrays. LÄS MER
3. Taxation of intermediate goods : a CGE analysis
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with tax rates for the use of commodities in general, and energy in particular. Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models are used to analyze the normative question of whether the tax rate for intermediate use by firms should be the same as the tax rate for final consumption by households. 4. Assessing carotid plaque structure
Sammanfattning : Atherosclerosis is the leading cause of death and disability in the western world. Its clinical complications include acute myocardial infarction, sudden death and stroke. Thirty to 40 % of all ischemic strokes are caused by a carotid stenosis. LÄS MER
5. The amyloid : structure, properties and application
Sammanfattning : Protein aggregation, leading to the formation and depositions of amyloids, is a cause for a number of diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Creutzfeld-Jacob’s disease, systemic amyloidoses, type II diabetes and others . More than 20 proteins are associated with protein misfolding diseases and even a larger number of proteins can self-assemble into amyloid in vitro. LÄS MER
