  1. 1. On interface modeling  with emphasis on friction

    Författare :Anders Söderberg; Sören Andersson; Lars-Erik Stacke; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; interface model; contact; friction; simulation; system behaviour; surface roughness; elastic foundation; Other engineering mechanics; Övrig teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The general trend toward increased use of computer models and simulations during product development has led to a need for accurate and reliable product models. The function of many products relies on contact interfaces between interacting components. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The GMOC Model : Supporting Development of Systems for Human Control

    Författare :Simon Tschirner; Bengt Sandblad; Anders Jansson; Sebastiaan Meijer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Human-Computer Interaction; User-Centered Design; Human Control; Train Traffic Control; Usability; System Development; Human Work; Railway Traffic; Rail Human Factors; Mental Models; Situation Awareness; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot människa-datorinteraktion; Computer Science with specialization in Human-Computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : Train traffic control is a complex task in a dynamic environment. Different actors have to cooperate to meet strong requirements regarding safety, punctuality, capacity utilization, energy consumption, and more. The GMOC model has been developed and utilized in a number of studies in several different areas. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Nanostructured surfaces created by the interactions of dendrimers and oppositely charged amphiphiles

    Författare :Marianna Yanez; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PAMAM; Surfactant; SDS; Lipid; Bilayer; Model Biomembrane; Nucleolipid; DLPA; DLPU; DNA; RNA; Neutron Reflectometry; Poly amidoamine ; Interface; Adsorption; Polyelectrolyte;

    Sammanfattning : The research described in this thesis aims to understand the interactions between cationic poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers and small oppositely charged amphiphiles at the solid-liquid and air-liquid interfaces in relation to the bulk solution behavior. There is high interest in PAMAM dendrimers because they are well-defined polymers with a hierarchical architecture which makes them promising materials as nanocapsules and gene vectors. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Micro-mechanical mechanisms for deformation in polymer-material structures

    Författare :Jessica Strömbro; Peter Gudmundson; Per Gradin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Length-scale effects; Strain gradient; Moisture change; Humidity change; Network model; Fibre model; Mathematical model; Polymer; Micro-indentation; Particle composite; Interfacial debonding; Matrix cracking; Paper; Mechano-sorptive creep; Accelerated creep; Other materials science; Övrig teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the focus has been on micro-mechanical mechanisms in polymer-based materials and structures. The first part of the thesis treats length-scale effects on polymer materials. Experiments have showed that the smaller the specimen, the stronger is the material. LÄS MER

  5. 5. L'analyse de la description en conversation : Pour une interface textuelle-conversationnelle

    Författare :Nina Bengtsson; Franska; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; description; describing; text linguistics; conversational analysis; interface; prototype; theme; affiliation; alignment; preface; exit device;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation addresses the topic of descriptions in conversation: a relatively unexplored area of investigation apart from a small number of studies within the field of conversation analysis (Mondada 1998, 1999). However, whereas previous studies focus on the description as a social activity, enhancing the conversational facet, the present work has as a premise to put emphasis on the description as a textual phenomenon developed by the speakers without neglecting the conversational context.
