  1. 11. Interaction of Cylindrical Penetrators with Ceramic and Electromagnetic Armour

    Författare :Lars Westerling; Kristofer Gamstedt; Bengt Lundberg; Nils G. Ohlson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot hållfasthetslära; Engineering Science with specialization in Solid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Armoured vehicles have traditionally used steel armour as protection against penetrators such as projectiles and shaped charge jets. The latter produce a thin stretching metal jet, usually of copper, with a tip velocity of about 7-8 km/s. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Vehicle-Pavement Interaction

    Författare :Parisa Khavassefat; Björn Birgisson; Denis Jelagin; David Cebon; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite element; Viscoelasticity; Moving load; Dynamic axle loads; Road roughness; Flexible pavement; Stochastic;

    Sammanfattning : Several aspects of vehicle-pavement interaction have been studied and discussed in this thesis. Initially the pavement response is studied through a quasi-static and a dynamic computationally efficient framework under moving traffic loads. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Tyre/road interaction : A holistic approach to the functional requirements of road surfaces regarding noise and rolling resistance

    Författare :Tiago Vieira; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Ulf Sandberg; Tony Parry; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road; surface; noise; rolling resistance; tyre; mitigation; Vägbeläggning; vägyta; textur; buller; rullmotstånd; däck; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Sammanfattning : Increased fuel consumption, increased greenhouse gas emission, diminishing real-estate prices and increased health issues are some of  the negative effects on the climate, on the environment and on the society from tyre/road rolling resistance and noise. The first two aspects are affected by energy dissipation in the tyre/pavement contact and are related to rolling resistance. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Human brains and virtual realities : Computer-generated presence in theory and practice

    Författare :Daniel Sjölie; Lars-Erik Janlert; Johan Eriksson; Giuseppe Riva; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Human brain function; virtual reality; presence; cognitive neuroscience; human-computer interaction; brain imaging; fMRI; BCI; neural correlates; HCI theory; reality-based interaction.;

    Sammanfattning : A combined view of the human brain and computer-generated virtual realities is motivated by recent developments in cognitive neuroscience and human-computer interaction (HCI). The emergence of new theories of human brain function, together with an increasing use of realistic human-computer interaction, give reason to believe that a better understanding of the relationship between human brains and virtual realities is both possible and valuable. 5. 15. Listen to your users : The effect of usability evaluation on software development practice

    Författare :Marta Kristín Lárusdóttir; Jan Gulliksen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot människa-datorinteraktion; Computer Science with specialization in Human-Computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : A vast majority of the people in the western world use software systems on daily basis for achieving their goals. To be able to do that each person needs to communicate what he or she wants to do to the system and receive a response. This communication needs to be easy for the user, especially when the system is new to him or her. LÄS MER
