6. Interacting Particle Systems: Percolation, Stochastic Domination and Randomly Evolving Environments
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we first analyze the class of one-dependent trigonometric determinantal processes and show that they are all two-block-factors. We do this by constructing the two-block-factors explicitly. Second we investigate the dynamic stability of percolation for the stochastic Ising model and the contact process. LÄS MER
7. Statistical inference on interacting particle systems with applications to cancer biology
Sammanfattning : Interacting particle is a mathematical framework which allows for condensed and elegant modelling of complex phenomena undergoing both deterministic and random dynamics. While there are several ways to formulate an interacting particle system, this thesis focuses on modelling such dynamics using stochastic differential equations. LÄS MER
8. Correlations in low-dimensional quantum many-particle systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns correlation effects in quantum many-particle systems in one and two dimensions. Such systems show many exotic non-Fermi liquid phenomena, which can be treated analytically using non-perturbative field-theory methods. LÄS MER
9. Determinantal two-block-factors and dynamical percolation for some interacting particle systems

10. Interacting particle systems for opinion dynamics: the Deffuant model and some generalizations
Sammanfattning : In the field of sociophysics, concepts and techniques taken from statistical physics are used to model and investigate some social and political behavior of a large group of humans: their social network is given by a simple graph and neighboring individuals meet and interact in pairs or small groups. Although most of the established models feature rather simple microscopic interaction rules, the macroscopic long-time behavior of the collective often eludes an analytical treatment due to the complexity, which stems from the interaction of the large system as a whole.
