Sammanfattning : Background: Migrants, especially forced migrants, have an increased risk of ill health. Having a structural focus on health is crucial for battling health inequities. 3. Mental health after migration to Sweden : The role of the social determinants of health
Sammanfattning : Migrants often experience worse mental health after migration than natives in Sweden. Using survey, register and peer-reviewed published data, the five studies of this thesis explored the mental health variation of different migrant groups settled in Sweden, including by the timing of migration, level of integration and region of origin. Sammanfattning : The thesis is divided into three sections. The first, “From an education market to public education. The Swedish girls’ school 1874-1962”, deals with the integration of girls’ secondary education into the public education system, as well as with the strengthening and weakening of this special, gender-coded education. 5. "Vi kan inte alla passa till hantverkare" : Blinda kvinnors bildningsprocess 1879-1923
Sammanfattning : The main aim of my dissertation is to make a contribution to the history of blind women in Sweden from 1879 to 1923 by demonstrating how they were educationally defined and classified during that period. I have chosen this particular period because education for the blind was separated from that of the deaf in 1879, when the first state-funded institute was founded. LÄS MER
