  1. 1. Optimal Truck Scheduling : Mathematical Modeling and Solution by the Column Generation Principle

    Författare :Myrna Palmgren; Torbjörn Larsson; Niklas Kohl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optimisation; pickup and delivery problem; transportation; scheduling; column generation; integer programming; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Sammanfattning : We consider the daily transportation problem in forestry which arises when transporting logs from forest sites to customers such as sawmills and pulp and paper mills. Each customer requires a specific amount of a certain assortment, and the deliveries to the customers can be made within time intervals, known as time windows. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Optimisation methods for solving a large-scale avionics scheduling problem

    Författare :Emil Karlsson; Elina Rönnberg; Kaj Holmberg; Simin Nadjm-Tehrani; Musliu Nysret; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Optimisation; Decomposition; Large-scale scheduling; Avionics scheduling;

    Sammanfattning : Modern computer systems in aircraft are based on an integrated modular avionic architecture. In this architecture, software applications share hardware resources on a common avionic platform. Many functions in an aircraft are controlled by software and a failure in such software can have severe consequences. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Life Cycle Energy Optimisation: A multidisciplinary engineering design optimisation framework for sustainable vehicle development

    Författare :Hamza Bouchouireb; Ciarán J. O'Reilly; Peter Göransson; Rupert J. Baumgartner; José Potting; Mario Hirz; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Life cycle energy optimisation; Multidisciplinary optimisation; Integrative design; Sustainable vehicle design; Functional conflicts; Vehicle aerodynamics; Battery energy storage systems; Robust design; Uncertainty propagation; Livscykelenergi; Fordonsdesign; Optimering; Tvär-funktionella konflikter; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores how the systemic-level environmental footprint of light-duty vehicles could be reduced through integrative design using the Life Cycle Energy Optimisation (LCEO) methodology. This methodology aims at finding a design solution that uses a minimum amount of cumulative energy demand over the different phases of the vehicle's life cycle; while complying with a set of functional constraints, thereby avoiding any sub-optimal energy demand shifts between the vehicle's different life cycle phases. 4. 4. Constraint Programming for Wireless Sensor Networks

    Författare :Farshid Hassani Bijarbooneh; Justin Pearson; Pierre Flener; Edith Ngai; Ken Brown; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Constraint programming; wireless sensor networks; optimisation; macroprogramming; task mapping; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot datorkommunikation; Computer Science with specialization in Computer Communication;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have grown rapidly and have had a substantial impact in many applications. A WSN is a network that consists of interconnected autonomous nodes that monitor physical and environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, pollution, etc. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Voltage Dip (Sag) Estimation in Power Systems based on Stochastic Assessment and Optimal Monitoring

    Författare :Gabriel Olguin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; power quality; symmetr?cal components; stochastic methods; impedance matrix; voltage dips; integer optimisation; power systems; short-circuit faults; voltage sags;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation deals with the statistical characterization of the performance of power systems in terms of voltage dips (sags). It presents a method named voltage dip estimation that extends monitoring results to buses not being monitored. LÄS MER
