  1. 1. Investigation of the structural response of pavements in cold region using instrumented test site data

    Författare :Denis Saliko; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Pauli Kolisoja; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flexible pavement; environmental impact; seasonal variation; heavy loading; non-destructive testing; instrumented section; Flexibla vägkonstruktioner; Omgivningspåverkan; Säsongvariation; Tung trafikbelastning; Oförstörande provning; Instrumenterade teststräckor; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Sammanfattning : The structural behaviour of pavement structures is known to be affected by the traffic-related loading and by the ambient factors to which the structure is subjected. A new mechanistic-empirical (M-E) pavement design method is under development in Sweden with the main purpose to adequately predict pavement structural response and performance. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Validation of heavy vehicle loading responses and temperature predictions in flexible pavements using field data

    Författare :Denis Saliko; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Abubeker Ahmed; Denis Jelagin; Inge Hoff; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexible pavements; Long heavy vehicles; Instrumented test section; Field validation; Non-destructive testing; Temperature modelling; Flexibla vägkonstruktioner; Tung trafikbelastning; Instrumenterade teststräckor; Fältvalidering; Oförstörande provning; Termisk modellering; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Sammanfattning : It is well established that both traffic-related loading and environmental conditions influence the structural behaviour of pavements. Pavement design methods aim to consider the effect of traffic loading and environmental variables on pavement structure, foresee their changes during the lifetime of the pavement and predict the resulting distresses and pavement life. 3. 3. A search for solar dark matter with the IceCube neutrino detector : Advances in data treatment and analysis technique

    Författare :Marcel Christian Robert Zoll; Christian Walck; Juan Jose Henrandez Rey; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; neutrino; WIMP; dark matter; cluster analysis; sun; IceCube; IC86; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : There is compelling observational evidence for the existence of dark matter in the Universe, including our own Galaxy, which could possibly consist of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) not contained in the standard model (SM) of particle physics. WIMPs may get gravitationally trapped inside heavy celestial bodies of ordinary matter. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Continuous monitoring of mineral processes with special focus on tumbling mills : a multivariate approach

    Författare :Kent Tano; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing emphasis on productivity and quality control has provided an impetus to research on better methodologies for diagnosis, modelling, monitoring, control and optimisation of mineral process systems. One of the biggest challenges facing the research community is the processing of raw sensor data into meaningful information. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Aerothermal Experimental Investigation of LPT-OGVs

    Författare :Borja Rojo; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Experimental; Turbine Rear Structure; Aerodynamics; Wind Tunnel; CFD; Gas Turbine; Engine Exit Structure; Outlet Guide Vane; Heat transfer.; Turbine Exhaust Case; Turbine Rear Frame; Exit Guide Vane;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the design, commissioning, and experimental data of a newly built turbine facility at Chalmers University of Technology for investigating the ow in the engine exit structure (EES). The EES is the structure located downstream of the lowpressure turbine (LPT) in a jet engine. LÄS MER
