  1. 6. Exploring Road Safety Deficiencies in Malaysia

    Författare :Noor Azreena Binti Kamaluddin; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; road traffic safety; crashes; underreporting; Self-reporting; probability conflict model; Motorcyclists; Malaysia;

    Sammanfattning : The escalating number of road traffic crashes in Malaysia poses a critical concern. The underreporting of these crashes has been identified as a significant problem that obstructs the effectiveness and efficiency of road safety work. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Traumatic Brain Injuries: Animal Experiments and Numerical Simulations to Support the Development of a Brain Injury Criterion

    Författare :Jacobo Antona; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; traumatic brain injuries; traffic safety; concussions; animal experiments; finite element method;

    Sammanfattning : Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) account for about half of the 1 300 000 annual traffic related deaths and the 50 000 000 injuries worldwide. The burden of TBI is ethically unacceptable and economically unsustainable. LÄS MER

  3. 8. To be or not to be Sick Certified with Special Reference to Physician and Patient Related Factors

    Författare :Gunilla Norrmén; Dan Andersson; Kurt Svärdsudd; Urban Janlert; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Objectives The aim of this thesis was to assess the importance of general practitioners (GP) and patient related factors for the GPs’ decision to sick certify or not to sick certify the patients. Study population and methods The data were obtained from a cross-sectional questionnaire study of GP-patient consultations. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Pre-crash Motion Planning for Autonomous Vehicles in Unavoidable Collision Scenarios

    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Autonomous vehicles; motion planning; severity minimization; data-driven; safety; collision mitigation; vehicle dynamics; vehicle control; collision reconfiguration; post-impact; collision model; Autonoma fordon; rörelseplanering; skademinimering; datadriven; personsäkerhet; säkerhet; mildring av effekterna av kollisioner; fordonsdynamik; fordonskontroll; omkonfigurering av kollisioner; efter kollisioner; kollisionsmodell; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : Full deployment of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) on public roads is challenging for organizations in the automotive domain in terms of developing safety standards and methods while taking legacy assumptions related to having a human driver and increased complexity and complexity handling into account. Specifically, the safety of AVs in the presence of other road users must be guaranteed as far as possible for different traffic scenarios. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Development of analytical transport methods for biologically optimized light ion therapy

    Författare :Johanna Kempe; Anders Brahme; Irena Gudowska; Naruhiri Matsufuji; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Radiotherapy; radiation quality; energy-range relations; light ion transport; pencil beam; Monte Carlo; Physics; Fysik; medicinsk strålningsfysik; Medical Radiation Physics;

    Sammanfattning : A general objective in the treatment of cancer is to eradicate the tumour cells without inducing severe complications in healthy normal tissue. The use of light ions for radiation therapy increases the possibility to deliver tumour suicidal doses with very low probability of normal tissue injury, not least in cases where the target is unresectable, radioresistant and located to near organs at risk.
