  1. 11. Car-To-Car Side Impacts: Development and Validation of Mathematical Models and their Usability for Protective System Design

    Författare :Bengt Pipkorn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dummy; injury criteria; padding; mathematical simulations; barrier; side impact; car; occupant; airbag;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of the present work was to develop and use mathematical models to establish principles for protective systems for occupants in car-to-car side impacts. The efforts in this work have concentrated on the protection of the thorax and abdomen since these body parts are most frequently injured in side impacts. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Acute kidney injury, outcome studies

    Författare :Max Bell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a complex syndrome for which no effective treatment exists, and our understanding of this condition is limited. If the acute kidney injury is severe enough to require renal replacement therapy, mortality rates at six months are around 60%. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Non-Suicidal Self-Injury in Swedish Adolescents : Prevalence, Characteristics, Functions and Associations With Childhood Adversities

    Författare :Maria Zetterqvist; Carl Göran Svedin; Lars-Gunnar Lundh; Paul Plener; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Non-suicidal self-injury; adolescents; prevalence; functions; adversities; trauma symptoms;

    Sammanfattning : Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), such as intentionally cutting, burning or hitting oneself, is a behavior with potentially detrimental consequences and empirical studies are necessary to gain knowledge of how to prevent NSSI in adolescents. The aims of this thesis were to investigate the prevalence, methods, characteristics and functions of NSSI in a large community sample of Swedish adolescents, and to examine the relationship between NSSI and adverse life events and trauma symptoms. 4. 14. Addressing Female Whiplash Injury Protection - A Step Towards 50th Percentile Female Rear Impact Occupant Models

    Författare :Anna K Carlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; anthropometry; dynamic response; head restraint; dummy; volunteers; whiplash; female; crash test; rear impact; neck injury; occupant model;

    Sammanfattning : Whiplash Associated Disorder (WAD) – commonly denoted whiplash injury – to vehicle occupants involved in collisions, is of worldwide concern. These injuries occur at relatively low velocity changes, typically between 10–25 km/h, and in all impact directions. Rear impacts are, however, the most common in the accident statistics. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Injury Prevention in Youth Football Players : Training Effects and Programme Implementation

    Författare :Hanna Lindblom; Martin Hägglund; Markus Waldén; Siw Carlfjord; Keith Stokes; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Background With 17–35% of all 14-year-olds in Sweden being active in football, injuries do occur, most frequently during match play. Based on knowledge of injury mechanisms and risk factors, different injury prevention exercise programmes (IPEPs) have been developed. LÄS MER
