16. Process development of III-V-based infrared detectors
Sammanfattning : Type-II Superlattice (T2SL) detectors have revolutionized the field of infraredimaging, establishing themselves as the forefront technology in defense, space, and industrial applications. These detectors enable larger formats and higheroperating temperatures (HOT) that minimize the need for bulky and energyconsumingcryogenic cooling, paving the way for imaging systems with reducedSize, Weight, and Power (SWaP). 17. Ultrafast Photoionization Dynamics Studied with Coincidence Momentum Imaging Spectrometers
Sammanfattning : The time scale of the dynamics in atoms and molecules varies from attoseconds (10-18) to picoseconds (10-12) depending on the size of the particles. To study such dynamics, ultrafast light pulses are needed to trigger and capture the reaction. One of the most direct methods consists in ionizing the system and observing the following response. 18. Novel Materials and Technologies for IR Optoelectronic Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on novel III-V materials (InAs/GaSb type-II superlattices, T2SL, and dilute bismides) and metamorphic growth techniques for infrared optoelectronics all of which may find wide spread applications in telecommunication, energy harvesting and saving, sensing and imaging. Mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR) and long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) photodetectors at the atmospheric windows of 3-5 and 8-12 µm, respectively, are currently dominated by HgCdTe and quantum well infrared photodetectors. 19. The Colours of Diabetes : advances and novel applications of molecular optical techniques for studies of the pancreas
Sammanfattning : Diabetes is a rapidly increasing health problem. In a global perspective, approximately 415 million people suffered from diabetes in 2015 and this number ispredicted to increase to 640 million by 2040. To tackle this pandemic there is a needfor better analytical tools by which we can increase our understanding of the disease. LÄS MER
20. Regolith Properties of Mercury Derived from Observations and Modelling
Sammanfattning : The properties of Mercury's regolith have been investigated at optical and near-infrared wavelengths with high-resolution imaging, photometric, and spectroscopic observations with the Swedish Vacuum Solar Telescope and the Nordic Optical Telescope. A new global optical map at a spatial resolution of 200 km shows that the well known (from Mariner 10) and poorly known hemispheres are indistinguishable with respect to the distribution, number density, and morphological parameters of bright albedo features.
